Application of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the information that we may collect from you or that you may provide when you access or use RecipeBox’s websites, www.recipebox.com or www.getrecipebox.com, the RecipeBox mobile application, and any other related RecipeBox-related websites, mobile applications, email lists, subscriptions, and other features and communications (collectively, “Services”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected by: (a) us offline or through any other means; or (b) any third party, including through any website, application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to access or use the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Children Under the Age of 16

The Services are not intended for anyone under the age of 18. Additionally, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on or through the Services or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Information We Collect

When you interact with, access or use the Services, we may collect both personal and non-personal information, as described below. Service Providers: We use other third party companies and contractors (“Service Providers”) to perform services for us or to assist in marketing, research, advertising, communications, infrastructure, and IT services in the course of providing our Services to you.

For example, RecipeBox shares data with Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Promotional Offers: We may offer joint marketing promotions that, in order for you to participate, will require that we share your information with third parties. By participating in these joint promotions, you agree to our sharing of your information. Business Transfer: We may transfer your information due to a reorganization, restructuring, merger, sale, or other transfer of RecipeBox, our business or assets. Social Media Services: If you choose to connect and share information from the Services to a social media network, the information you share is then subject to the social media service’s privacy policy.
Legal Requirements: RecipeBox may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, to protect the rights, property or safety of RecipeBox, our customers or others.
Others with access to your account: If you choose to share your account with other parties, they may have access to any of your personal information.

Either RecipeBox or our Service Providers may use cookies in your web browser or utilize tracking pixels to analyze or enhance the use of the Services. These cookies don’t collect information from your computer, but may be used to record information that you have submitted to us. One example of our use of cookies is to enable our website to remember who you are from visit to visit.

You can erase and block these cookies using the features available on your web browser. However, should you do this, it is possible that portions of the site may not function properly or at all.

RecipeBox allows third-party advertisers that are presenting ads on our behalf to set and access cookies on your web browser. The advertisers’ use of cookies or tracking pixels is subject to their own privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy.

Your Choices

If you don’t want to receive emails from us, you can simply “Unsubscribe” via a link in the email. However, there are certain administrative emails from which you can’t unsubscribe, such as service notifications and emails related to your financial transactions with us.

Our mobile app will prompt you to opt in to receive push notifications. If you later decide you don’t want to receive push notifications, you can disable them on the devices receiving the notifications.

Right to Access Your Information

Exclusions

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any Personal Information collected by RecipeBox other than the personal information collected through the Services. It does not apply to any unsolicited information you provide to RecipeBox through the Services or any other means, which includes, but is not limited to, information posted to any public areas of the Services or to related forums or social media sites. All unsolicited information is deemed non-confidential and RecipeBox will be free to reproduce, use, and disclose such information without limitation or attribution.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, physical and managerial measures to protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to, on or through the Services (including our websites and mobile application). Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services.

Transfer of Information

The Services are targeted to and intended to be viewed by users located within the United States. However, given the global nature of our society, users located outside of the United States may choose to conduct business with RecipeBox, which may result in the transfer of information internationally. Therefore, by using the Services you acknowledge and agree to the transfer of your information outside of your country of residence to any country (including the United States) where we have facilities or Service Providers. You understand that countries that we may transfer information to may not have as comprehensive a level of data protection as your country, although your personal information will continue to be protected in accordance with the standards described in this Privacy Policy.

The Services may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party’s site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

California Consumer Privacy Act

For residents of California, this section supplements the other portions of this Privacy Policy and explains the types of personal information we collect, use and share along with certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).

To provide certain features of the Services (including our website and mobile application), we process personal information whether or not you are logged into our Services. As described above (see Business Transfer), we may share your personal information for business purposes either with your permission or otherwise where permissible under the CCPA. In order to verify the identity of your authorized agent, we may need to collect personal information from the agent, such as a government issued ID.
